ISIS launches in Salt Lake City and Austin; T-Mobile and Verizon name compatible devices

The mobile payment market just got a new player. ISIS gas finally launched. Currently you will only be able to enjoy it if you live in Austin and Salt Lake City. But just because you have a NFC enabled phone on Verizon, T-Mobile, or AT&T that doesn’t mean you can run right out and start using it. First you need to go to your carrier and pick up a special “secure element SIM card.” After this then download the carrier specific version of the ISIS app from the Google Play Store. You can link a American Express, Capital One, or Chase card to ISIS(credit, debit, or prepaid). As far as places you can use make purchases at store like 7 Eleven, Foot Locker, McDonalds, Rite Aid, Home Depot, PetCo,  and Sports Authority are up and ready now.

As far as devices go, on Verizon you can use the HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE as of today. Both the DROID RAZR HD and RAZR MAXX HD should be able to use it by the end of the week. For T-Mobile customers you can use it with the Galaxy S2, Galaxy Relay, and Galaxy S3. They are expecting the HTC Amaze 4G and Note 2 to be able to enjoy the service by the end of the year.
